Lead Front-End Developer | Trading Technology | London

We’re working with a major financial services organisation looking for a Lead Front-End Developer to help build a real-time trading platform.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems while guiding other developers. You’ll shape front-end architecture, build new features and work closely with product and trading teams to turn demanding workflows into fast, reliable interfaces.

What you’ll be doing

• Building data-intensive trading interfaces using React, TypeScript and RxJS.

• Making technical decisions around real-time data, application performance and resilience.

• Working directly with front-office stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver new features.

• Reviewing code, setting engineering standards and mentoring other developers.

• Remaining actively involved in development alongside your leadership responsibilities.

What we’re looking for

• Strong, recent commercial experience with React, TypeScript and RxJS.

• Experience building real-time, event-driven applications with complex data flows.

• A background in electronic trading or capital markets, with an understanding of front-office users and workflows.

• Clear examples of applications you have personally designed, built or improved.

• Experience providing technical direction while remaining hands-on.

Experience gained at either a financial institution or a trading technology provider would be relevant.
