Senior Broker - Credit & Political Risks

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Broker to join its European Credit & Political Risk team. This is a highly visible role offering the opportunity to develop and grow an existing portfolio while driving new business activity across the French market.

The successful candidate will work with clients, insurers, reinsurers and market stakeholders to deliver innovative risk transfer solutions while contributing to the continued expansion of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and grow an existing portfolio of clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects through research, initial engagement and new business presentations to secure new business.
• Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise to support clients with service and advice.
• Develop appropriate solutions, structures, pricing and placement strategies that meet clients' needs and deliver profitable business across a range of accounts.
• Support budget-setting for the account portfolio and deliver against agreed targets.
• Gather all relevant information to support the preparation of annual renewals and endorsements for key accounts.
• Understand clients' businesses and risk management needs, delivering tailored solutions through ongoing service and support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key market and client contacts.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure contracts are processed in line with FCA and contract certainty requirements.
• Review policies, market presentations and client documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Broker placements, or liaise with placing brokers, to secure market agreement where required, maintaining a diary and pending system to track progress.
• Prepare clear, engaging presentations for new and existing clients.
• Maintain accurate and concise placing files using the corporate document management system.
• Carry out quality control checks across all documentation.
• Take overall responsibility for compliance procedures across the individual client portfolio.
• Promote the company's brand and values to enhance its reputation in the market.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience within insurance or reinsurance broking.
• Strong business development and relationship management skills.
• Commercially minded with a track record of winning and developing business.
• Strong technical knowledge of insurance and/or reinsurance products.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in an international and entrepreneurial environment.
• Fluent French and English preferred.
