I am currently working with a leading global financial services firm who are recruiting for an International Tax Manager in their London office. This role is focused on tax compliance across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as some jurisdictions in Asia. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tax professional who has some in-house experience after qualifying, and is looking to gain broad exposure across a fast growing business with plenty of scope for progression.

The Role

The International Tax Manager will support the European Head of Tax delivering a full range of tax services including Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and Operational Taxes across Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

Job Title: International Tax Manager

Location: London (Hybrid - 4 days in office per week)

Industry: Financial Services

Type: Permanent

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee UK and international tax compliance, including corporate income tax and indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare UK tax returns for the business and coordinate with external advisors on complex or specialist jurisdictional matters.
  • Manage the tax compliance calendar to ensure all filings and payments are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Support transfer pricing processes, including monthly calculations and collaboration with accounting teams to review and post ledger entries.
  • Drive tax process automation and ensure compliance with evolving requirements such as Making Tax Digital (MTD).
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to reduce the group's effective tax rate and optimise cash taxes.
  • Monitor and mitigate tax risk, maintain the tax risk register, draft the annual tax strategy, and advise on transactions and reorganisations.
  • Assist with tax accounting and provisioning, including quarterly and annual income tax provisions under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, purchase accounting for acquisitions, and tax disclosures in financial statements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or similar related field (preferred)
    • Accounting or Tax Qualification (CTA, ACA, ATT or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a tax role, with exposure to multi-jurisdictional tax compliance and planning, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
  • Experience working in an in-house tax role after qualifying in a public accounting firm.
  • Some exposure to Transfer Pricing, Indirect Taxes, and Corporate Taxes.
  • Strong skills will MS office, alongside experience with UK tax software and familiarity with Oracle and PowerBI would be a plus.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

If you are a qualified Tax professional looking for the next step on the road to becoming a Head of Tax, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. This is an exciting, growth-oriented firm with a great internal culture, offering exposure right up to the European CFO and Global Head of Tax.
