I'm working with a leading financial services organisation looking to hire an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join its growing technology team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the development of sophisticated, business-critical applications within a fast-paced financial services environment.

You'll be joining a highly skilled engineering team, working on complex technical challenges and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of core technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications.

• Build scalable, reliable and high-performance software solutions.

• Work closely with engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver new functionality.

• Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions.

• Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested code.

• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

Key Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java.

• Experience working within financial services, ideally investment banking, trading or capital markets.

• Solid understanding of distributed systems and multithreaded applications.

• Experience developing high-performance, scalable software.

• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and design patterns.

• Experience working in collaborative engineering environments.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to front-office or trading technology environments.

• Experience with cloud technologies.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.

• Experience working on complex, business-critical systems.
