Lead PI Underwriter - Build & Own a Full PI Platform (MGA)

An outstanding opportunity within a well-backed, ambitious MGA for a senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter to lead the build-out of a broader PI proposition, anchored by an existing, high-quality Solicitors PI portfolio.

This is a rare chance to step into a role combining immediate ownership of a live book with a clear mandate to scale into a fully diversified PI underwriting platform.

The Opportunity

• Assume ownership of an established and profitable Solicitors PI book, providing an immediate income base
• Lead the strategic build-out of a wider PI portfolio across additional classes (miscellaneous PI, emerging professions, financial lines adjacencies, etc.)
• Shape underwriting appetite, product offering, and growth strategy from the ground up
• Play a key role in developing a scalable, multi-line PI proposition within the MGA

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the existing Solicitors PI portfolio
• Drive expansion into new PI lines, building a balanced and diversified book
• Build and strengthen broker relationships across the London market
• Contribute to capacity discussions, wordings, and product development
• Support the gradual build-out of a PI underwriting team as the book grows

Candidate Profile

• Experienced PI Underwriter across all Professions, UK and International 
• Track record of growing books or developing new lines/business areas
• Commercial mindset with an interest in building something broader than a single line
• Strong broker relationships and market presence
• Ambitious, entrepreneurial, and comfortable in a growth-stage environment
